A fade, not a cliff.
Big-bang rewrites fail because they ask the business to wait years for value and then bet everything on one cutover. A fade delivers value in every phase, and the old system stays in service until the new one has earned the right to replace it.
Discover
Inventory the applications, data, integrations and the people who depend on them. Map dependencies and rank risk so the plan starts where it pays off first.
System and dependency inventory Risk and value ranking Sequenced roadmap with effort ranges
Stabilize
Source control, repeatable builds, structured logging and tests. Make the legacy system safe to change before changing it.
Source control and pipeline builds Structured logging and alerts Characterization tests around critical paths
Bridge
Put APIs and integration seams around the old system so new pieces can run beside it. Old and new share the load while trust is earned.
API facade over legacy logic Shared identity and data access Side-by-side routing and feature flags
Rebuild
Replace capabilities one slice at a time on a modern stack, shipped through automated pipelines, measured with real usage.
Modern services and front ends Automated deployments per environment Usage and error dashboards
Retire
Switch off what is no longer needed, archive what must be kept and hand over documentation your team can own.
Decommission plan and data archive Runbooks and architecture notes Knowledge transfer to your team
Start small. Scale when it works.
Modernization assessment
1 to 3 weeksA fixed-price look under the hood. You get an inventory, a risk map and a sequenced roadmap with effort ranges, whether or not we do the work.
Defined project
Weeks to monthsOne clear slice delivered end to end: migrate an application, build an API, stand up pipelines or automate an identity workflow.
Ongoing fade
MonthlyA steady retainer that keeps modernizing a portfolio in priority order while keeping the legacy side healthy until it retires.
Rescue
DaysSomething broke: an expired certificate, a failing deployment, a job that stopped running. Fast triage, root cause and a fix that stays fixed.
Straight answers.
Do we have to stop using our current system?
No. The whole approach is built around the old system staying in service until each replacement has proven itself.
Can you work alongside our existing developers or IT team?
Yes, and that is usually best. Pipelines, documentation and code reviews are set up so your team can carry the work forward.
What technologies can you take on?
Deepest experience is in .NET Framework and modern .NET, VB.NET, C#, WinForms, WebForms, SQL Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, Angular and Docker. If it runs on Windows or Linux and talks to a database, there is a good chance we can help.
On-premises or cloud?
Both. Plenty of modernization happens on the servers you already own: Windows Server, IIS and remote desktop farms, as well as containers on a VPS or in the cloud.
How do you handle production data?
Carefully. Database changes are delivered as reviewed scripts with preview queries, transactions and a backup step, and run under your change control.
Who owns the code?
You do. Everything lives in your source control, builds in your pipelines and is documented for your team.
No big-bang rewrites
Incremental replacement keeps revenue flowing and lets each step prove itself before the next one starts.
Root cause over patches
When something breaks we find out why, and fix it where it starts so the same problem does not come back elsewhere.
Production is sacred
Changes are scripted, reviewed and reversible. Database changes come with preview queries, transactions and a backup plan.
You own the result
Clean code, documentation and pipelines your team can run without us. No lock-in, no mystery boxes.
